Congress debated McCall's measure to form a commission for a Lincoln memorial in Washington while Olmstead pressed to link it to the Lincoln Way memorial road to Gettysburg. The Senate passed Friday a holiday resolution and struck a survey appropriation, sending the matter back with a separate measure expected to be introduced.

17 000 Tons of Ice Shipped From Laurel Dam
The United Ice and Coal company owns the Laurel dam and has harvested more than 17 000 tons of ice though cutting is not yet complete. Most of the ice has been sold and shipped to Harrisburg Steelton Gettysburg Chambersburg and other distant points. Last Saturday over thirty six car loads were sent to Harrisburg via the Philadelphia and Reading road.
