Six Rabid Cows Reported On Cumberland Farm
The State Veterinarian announced that six cattle on John Ludt’s Cumberland County farm died of rabies. A stray dog and Ludt’s dog were locked in the cow stable two weeks earlier. later released, they disappeared. Dr. Morette ordered the cattle killed and samples sent to state authorities for testing. Ludt, who had a hand lesion, traveled to Marietta for Pasteur treatment.

Mrs. Hettie Shank widow of Rev Daniel Shank died at 1 AM Wednesday at her daughter Mrs Samuel Bowers home in Biglerville from pneumonia aged 82 years 3 months 25 days. Wandering Night Ends At Home For 76-Year-Old Hiram Albert
Hiram Albert of Huntington township wandered all night between York Springs and Gardners Station, arriving home at five in the morning after a business trip to Gettsburg. No ill effects reported. In York Springs, Mrs. Edward Criswell fell downstairs with a lamp, breaking three ribs. A passerby helped, her son N R Criswell arrived. Dr E W Cashman attended. Nearby, George Philips suffered vertigo near Hampton, fell from a buggy, but recovered and is up again.
