Death of Rev Theodore D Mead After Fall at Parish School
The former St Joseph's Church pastor Rev Theodore D Mead of Taneytown and Baltimore area died at St Joseph's Hospital after a fall into an excavation for a new school. He had recently overseen major parish improvements including a new rectory and school, with foundations laid for a new church. Born 1842 in Connecticut, ordained 47 years ago, survived by one sister Mrs Hilburn of Baltimore. Funeral services were held Thursday morning.

Stull Wins Full Verdict Over Straban Horse Sale
M D Stull of Cumberland Township won a complete verdict against O S Riley of Straban township before Justice J L This on a suit about a horse bought last March for 150 dollars. Riley guaranteed soundness but the horse proved unsound after examination by Dr Hudson. Stull returned the horse and Riley refused to accept it leading to sale as a stray in Gettysburg. Stull was represented by William Hersh.
