Devine Sued for 4800 Dollars in Auto Crash Claims
J Wallace Noel of Conewago Township sues William P Devine of Hanover for 3000 damages and Edward Murren of the same township sues for 1000 over an August 13 auto collision near the Hanover McSherrystown turnpike. Both allege Devine failed to display lights and operated his car dangerously dragging plaintiffs 30 to 40 feet, injuring Noel and Murren and damaging property, with Noel claiming permanent disability.

House Burns in Fire at Blue Ridge Summit
The home of Charles Snider at Blue Ridge Summit was destroyed by flames after a coal oil lamp exploded Tuesday evening. Windy conditions hindered efforts as Blue Ridge Summit fire department, aided by about 49 locals, saved surrounding structures while most furnishings were lost. Water scarcity forced crews to haul water from neighboring property. Snider operates a saw mill on Jacks Mountain.

Clothing caught from sparks saves Mrs Flickinger
Mrs. Charles Flickinger narrowly escaped a serious lntaing accident Tuesday while assisting her brother B A Sell between Littlestown and Banover. A spark from a fire under a large kettle set her clothing alight in the out kitchen. Her sister-in-law Mrs Sell quickly dashed water on the blaze, likely saving her life. She escaped with only slight burns to her lower limbs.

Ice House Burned near New Oxford by Fast Fire
About 8 o clock Monday night a framed ice house 36 by 40 feet, owned by T. E. Warner of New Oxford, was totally destroyed by fire along with tools and machinery. Loss about 800 dollars. Fire likely started from a steam boiler beside the building on Little Conewago Creek near the New Oxford cemetery. Boiler powered ice conveyance. one fourth of ice was stored. Fire spread rapidly. building reduced to ashes quickly. Loss only partly insured.
