Lincoln Memorial Highway bill proposed for Gettysburg route
Monday in the Sixtieth Congress Congressman D F Lafean introduced a bill to build a Lincoln Memorial Highway from the White House in Washington to Gettysburg Pennsylvania. The measure allocates three million dollars for construction and sets up a commission including the secretary of war and secretary of state. It calls for a highway not less than 150 feet wide and names a roster of commissioners. Also two Gettysburg public building bills and amendments to widows pension and rural parcel post experiments were introduced.

John Trimmer Die at 83. Abbottstown clockmaker and photographer
John Trimmer, one of Abbottstown’s oldest residents, died suddenly on Tuesday afternoon at age 83. A former clockmaker and traveling photographer, he toured with a wagon gallery. Survived by son Lewis of near Abbottstown and daughters Maria and Mrs. Lewis Barman of Brunswick. Funeral Friday at 9 a.m. at home with Rev. C.G. Baker. burial at Bermudian Church Cemetery.
