The canvass added about sixty five active and sustaining members and fifty new annual givers while noting the largest donation of 15 dollars and a widow’s eleven cent contribution. The effort drew praise for Miss Briel and the nursing work, with future canvassing planned to complete reporting.

Freight wreck on Western Maryland near Monocacy Bridge
A fast freight train H. B. 2 derailed near Monocacy Bridge close to Rocky Ridge, tossing eleven loaded cars, with one auto car and one piano car derailed but largely undamaged.
