New Primary Law Pleases Electors
The change moves primary voting to Tuesday and all-day balloting, expected to boost turnout in Adams County. The statewide law defines primary dates by year and election type, with previous hours on Saturdays and liquor sales rules tightening. Richard Staub Dies at Adams County Alms House
Richard Staub aged 81 died yesterday from dropsy at the Adams County Alms House. Survived by brother A H Staub of near York Springs. He came to the Alms House 48 years ago, longest resident there. Funeral held Wednesday at 10 30 A M with interment in county plot.

Rescue near Atlantic City ends for King near pier
King, son of William King, was rescued from a strong Atlantic City tide while trying to swim around the Million Dollar Pier. Pier fishermen and life guards saved him after he weakened from continuous beating by pilings. He is not seriously hurt and expected home soon.

New 12-Cent Stamp Proposed to Cover Registry

Samuel D. Plank of Route 3 returned from visiting his daughter-in-law Mrs G W Copenhaver at Penbrook six miles beyond Harrisburg. At 163 years old he walked the roughly 43 miles from home to Penbrook in one day last week, wishing to walk back but his children urged him to take the train.

Elks Corn Bake Draws Record Turnout
Andy J. Smith’s farm near Bonneauville hosted the Elks annual Corn Bake on Wednesday night. About 125 Elks and guests from Harrisburg Carlisle Chambersburg and Hanover attended to enjoy fried chicken baked corn potatoes ham salad cheese and several desserts. A musical program preceded a late return to town as attendees declared it the lodge’s best and most successful social event in months.

Abram Flemming 75 Dies of Dropsy and Heart Trouble
Abram Flemming a well known farmer of Franklin township died Tuesday from dropsy and heart trouble aged 75 years. He is survived by two daughters Mrs Kate Trostle Mechanicsburg and Mrs Martha Kennedy Bermudian and two sons. The funeral was held Thursday and burial was in the Churchown cemetery.
