Philip F. Kuntz a longtime York Springs resident died at his home on Thursday at age 74 years months 29 days born January 12 1841 near Hampton. He married Hannah M Stouffer in 1854 and lived on the Stouffer farm before moving to West Virginia then returning to York Springs about 35 years ago. A carpenter by trade later a farmer he is survived by two children John Kuntz and Mrs William Pickel. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon with interment at Sunny Side cemetery Rev Lo M Gardner officiating.

Large Barn Burned at Franklin Mills Farm Near Thurmont
Shortly after midnight Sunday, a large bank barn on the Franklin Mills farm a half mile north of Thurmont burned. Crops including 45 tons of hay and 1000 bushels of unthreshed wheat were destroyed along with two heavy draught horses and a sow. The building and crops were insured but losses run to several thousand dollars. Origin of the fire unknown. The farm belongs to the heirs of the late J Wesley Creager and is tenanted by Mr Carl Gall.

Many Accidents In The County Reported After Weekend Collisions
Edward Marren of Oxford road near McSherrystown and Wallace Noel were thrown from a buggy when colliding with William P. Devine’s auto on Saturday night. Marren sustained lacerations bruises and dental injuries while under care and unable to work. Charles Hagerman of Brush Run injured his left hand at threshing. W H Carbaugh of Berlin Junction saw his horse panic and the vehicle damaged on the Hanover road near New Oxford. Clarence P Smith of York had the first three fingers of his right hand severed by machinery and was treated at York Hospital. Leo A Smith, another son of A J Smith, was hurt loading wheat and cannot work.
