Serious Runaway Injures Mrs Newman in Mt Pleasant
A buggy run wild at 6 30 pm near Mt Pleasant caused Mrs Oliver Newman and her nephew Heber Newman to be thrown. Mrs Newman suffered several broken ribs and facial and internal injuries while Heber had minor scalp wounds. The horse collided with a fence and broke its leg. it was killed that evening.

Freight Wreck Near Guldens Delays Trains and Passengers
Thirteen loaded coal cars derailed on the Western Maryland about a mile east of Guldens station when a brake rigging failed at 3 15 Tuesday afternoon. No injuries. Cars toppled and track torn up requiring hours to clear. Passengers on the 8 15 and 5 58 trains were transferred at the scene, causing delays.
