Runaway Cumberland Valley Girls Sought By Carlisle Police
Three underage Cumberland Valley maidens fled Carlisle for unknown parts riding the noon Reading freight. Police sought to detain them at Hunter’s Run and Carlisle officials ordered capture for return home. Train crews reported no appearances of the trio aboard any train bound for Gettysburg.

Runaway Cumberland Valley Girls Found Near Brush Town
Three Cumberland Valley girls headed for Gettysburg were found by the father of one of them near Brush town in a settlement called Little Africa. Two girls returned to Carlisle homes, the third too ill to travel. Several men met during their absence may face prosecution for furnishing whiskey to the girls.

Robbery at Table Rock Mill Aimed by Four Burglars
Four burglars blew the Table Rock mill safe of Luther Plank between one and two in the morning, taking fifty to sixty dollars plus checks and notes. Shots were fired as they escaped. They then moved to Biglerville to steal a railroad hand car, traveling toward Hunter's Run before being seen by authorities. Local police circulated notices as tramps in the region were investigated for links to the crime.
