Marie Hankey thirteen year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Hankey of Railroad street was attacked by an unknown man near the Washington House livery stable Wednesday evening. She freed herself and reached home in a nervous state. A pursuit followed but the assailant escaped. The girl believed the attacker to be a negro though others saw a white man nearby creating uncertainty with no solid leads.

Flitting Accident Near New Oxford Injures Five
A flitting party in a covered wagon overturned while passing large teams near New Oxford on Tuesday. John Evans of Hampton led the group including Mrs Ernest Gross and children, Mrs William Gross of near New Oxford, and Ervin Yohe of Hampton. Mrs Gross suffered a severe head wound needing about 15 stitches. Mrs Gross and Yohe sustained various bruises and minor injuries. The occupants were trapped among household items but escaped serious harm due to a quiet horse.
