Gas Gush At Ada Well Threatens Home And Menace Passes
A well one mile west of Ada airport owned by Jim Ellis released millions of cubic feet of natural gas for over three hours. The gusher vented through a seven inch pipe under 500 to 700 psi, throwing mud and debris as five workers vainly tried to cap it. No fire or injuries occurred, and Ellis narrowly avoided damage to his $30,000 residence as the well was finally capped and shut down.
