Hyde Construction of Enid nears finishing a 6.565 mile extension of Highway 12 from Ada to the county line east of Stonewall. Concrete paving speeds up ahead of curing, with Ada to Allen routing benefits and a finished bridge on the grading project east toward Allen. Murray Lane on Highway 48 cuts Ada to Tishomingo distance to 41.819 miles, while grading advances past Franks and a rock cut east of Pranks. On Highway 48 from Tishomingo north seven miles are fully graded and drained with eight more miles 90 percent complete.

Child Drowns In Water Tank At Local Plant
Lendell A. Loman aged 20 months, son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Loman, drowned about 12:50 PM in the waste water pool at Southern Ice and Utilities plant here. The father found the body after the child crawled over an embankment into the pool about 30 minutes earlier. Emergency treatment was given but the baby did not revive. The body remains at Criswell Funeral Home pending funeral arrangements.
