Farm Bureau members select key issues for the November 8 to 10 convention in Oklahoma City. A resolutions committee led by vice president Ralph Wilson will start November 1 and process about 600 proposals for the delegate body voting on November 10. Delegates may amend reject table or approve recommendations and county delegates may bring additional policy suggestions. Over 1,000 delegates and visitors expected. General registration Monday morning November 8. The resolutions committee meets November 1-3 at Trade Winds Motel.

Coalgate Adds Vocal Music Program in Elementary Grades
Coalgate Schools will add a vocal music program in elementary grades starting November 15, announced by Gwyn Slaton. Miss June Griffin, Idabel, a Southeastern State College graduate, will teach. Funding comes from the Bureau of Indian Affairs thanks to Coalgate’s 19 percent Indian enrollment. The district already offers a high school vocal class and an instrumental program beginning in sixth grade. The program will use the tonette in fourth or fifth grade to help students read music and gauge interest in future band participation.

Goose season opens soon across Oklahoma state
