Her condition is reported good with one leg weakness. two cases are acute. She lives across from Jimmy Nanny, two, of Mill Creek, who was admitted earlier with a mild case.

Surgery Fixes Open Chest In Newborn Girl
Chicago doctors used a stillborn baby’s breastbone and rib segments to rebuild a newborn’s chest wall after the child was born with an open chest and heart outside the body on Sept 28. Dr. Saul A Mackler at Michael Reese Hospital performed the Oct 8 transplant on Linda Wetzl, daughter of Werner and Rosemarie Wetzel. The transplanted bone may not grow but will guide future chest development. Results expected in a month or a year to judge success.

Brazilian airliner crash kills fourteen near Porto Alegre
Rescue workers moved bodies from a flaming crash of a Brazilian DC3 operated by Aerovias Brasil. Four survivors were hospitalized. Tragedy narrowly avoided in Atoka head-on collision
Early Thursday on U S 69, one and a half miles north of Atoka, a 1949 Mercury driven by Clifton Dean Anderson 24 of Atoka tried to pass another vehicle and collided head on with a Southern Freight Lines bit van truck. Anderson was hospitalized for observation and the truck driver Thomas Lee Phillips 42 of Miami Oklahoma was uninjured. The truck overturned blocking traffic for hours.

Pleads Guilty to Larceny Forgery in District Court
