Convict Escapes From Ada Jail On Blanket Rope
Richard McLish a 42 year old inmate serving an 11 year auto theft sentence escaped Ada county jail Wednesday night using blankets tied together to descend from the courthouse roof. Sheriff Burl Griffin cited jailer carelessness and said the escape appeared planned with the blanket rope prepared in advance. Roadblocks were set up on routes out of Ada but McLish remained at large this morning.

Ada Resident Found Dead In Pickup Truck
Ada man Wayne Wadlington, 60, was found dead from a gunshot in a pickup east of Wintersmith Park Lake, off Wintersmith Drive. Park employee B M Matlock saw blood and alerted police after Wadlington appeared to have self-inflicted the shot with a 12 gauge shotgun.
