Gasoline tax cut eyed as first step toward broader relief
The American Automobile Association hailed removal of the one half cent per gallon gasoline tax on January 1 as a potential for relief from other federal motor levies. Thomas P. Henry of Detroit said the next congress should pursue eliminating remaining taxes on new vehicles parts tires tubes lubricants and the gasoline tax. He noted lifting the gas tax will save motorists about 70 million dollars yearly.

Lynching of Hart killers shocks San Jose crowd
In San Jose California last night a mob of about one hundred stormed the county jail and hanged Thomas H Thurmond and John M Holmes, confessed killers of Brooke Hart. The event drew thousands as officers fought the mob with tear gas and improvised barricades, ending after the bodies were stretched from a tree and later removed.

Murray Plans Federal Aid To Hire Teachers In Oklahoma
Oklahoma City November 28 plan to use federal funds for educational relief received approval from the state board of education. Governor Murray and Charles Evans would appoint rural teachers once local funds run out. State Supt. Vaughan opposed the move saying it injects politics and urged continuing current teachers.
