Democrats win all but six states with a sweeping victory in Oklahoma. All eight Congressmen elected as Democrats for the first time, with Walton and Johnston noted among the winners.
Oklahoma results show Franklin D Roosevelt leading Hoover with a large margin early counts. In the eighth district Ernest Marland leads M C Garber by over 6 000 votes with under half precincts tabulated. Elmer Thomas wins US Senate seat. J C Jack Walton appears set to regain governorship.

Early returns show large numbers of elected officials favoring repeal or modification of the 18th Amendment in the new House and Senate. Democratic repeal candidates lead in several states while anti prohibition measures also gain support in Louisiana Michigan New Jersey California and Connecticut.
In a historic outcome, New York selects its next governor with the largest plurality on record. President Hoover concedes defeat and congratulates the winner, praising the opponent’s service and urging a peaceful transition.
A massive Democratic tide rooted in Franklin D. Roosevelt swept control of the national government and many states. Hoover carried six states including Delaware Maine New Hampshire Connecticut Pennsylvania and Vermont as over 14 million votes counted. Roosevelt’s win promises a Democratic Senate and House and gains in 35 gubernatorial races with anti prohibition sentiment rising.
Governor Harry H. Woodring holds a 477 vote lead over Alfred M. Landon with 804 of 2676 precincts reported in Kansas. Earlier counts showed Landon leading by 1,607 votes after 643 precincts. Woodring 82,724 London 82,257 Brinkley 64,928.
