In Hokkaido Japan two 45th Division men hunted and bagged a 500 pound black bear in a mountain range near the southeast coast. Lt Col Arthur E Large training officer from Oklahoma City downed the bear with Capt Dallas Boren from Konawa. It took three shots from a 30 calibre rifle to finish the hunt.

Crump Convicted and Sentenced in Rape Case
Roscoe Crump was found guilty of rape in the second degree and sentenced to four years in the state penitentiary at McAlester by Judge John Boyce McKee. Sentence set for November 16.
