Jury convict in Moore woman killing husband
A Cleveland County jury convicted 19 year old Joy Lynn Jackson of first degree manslaughter in the shooting death of her Moore police officer husband Donald. Local National Guard units from Ada depart for a two week active duty stint. HGC 120th S and C Battalion with about 90 men head to Ft Chaffee Arkansas for two weeks returning June 13 to support the 90th Brigade. Capt Ernest Farrah leads the group. Ada Chamber Seeks Census Missed Persons List
The Ada Chamber of Commerce asks residents who feel they were missed by the census to file the Were You Counted form and mail it to the Bureau of the Census in Enid. By Tuesday about 100 people had called in, as Ada’s unofficial population was 14 311, down 36 from 1960, with county totals reduced to 27 013. Final figures come in December and accuracy matters for representation and federal funds.
