Lake Konawa Opens as Recreation Area Alongside New OG&E Plant
OG&E dedicates the first phase of a steam generating station at Konawa with a 1300 acre lake to supply cooling water. The Lake Konawa Recreation Area offers public access with stocked fishing, boat ramps, picnic tables, restrooms, shade trees, and a designated swimming beach. three zones near the dam and intake/discharge remain off limits. Access is free and usage is encouraged, with officials requesting responsible use.
