Naval officer found dead after alleged drunken killing
Lieutenant Commander S. J. Trowbridge was found shot crushed skull near Edwards county Kansas after hitchhiker Leo Hudgins confessed to killing him during a drunken orgy. Hudgins told authorities in Marietta Oklahoma he struck Trowbridge with a hammer during a quarrel and disposed of the body to evade arrest. He is being returned to Kansas in custody of local officers.

Lumber man Daugherty dies at 71 in Fort Smith
Albert S. J. Daugherty, 71, pioneer hardwood lumber dealer in Arkansas and Texas, died after a brief illness in a Fort Smith hospital. Born in Livingston Tennessee, he moved to Fort Smith in 1885, later established a walnut timber mill in Galveston and led lumber operations in south Texas before returning to Arkansas in 1907. His widow and two sons survive.

Landslide Disaster in Kwangtung Drowns Hundreds

Famed Bonnie Parker Clyde Barrow Kill End Blood Run Eight-Year Manhunt Ends
Shreveport La May 23 Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker were killed by a sheriff s posse near Gibsland after a long manhunt across six states. The car was riddled with bullets as they attempted to flee. The raid followed a trail tracked by Frank Hamer and Texas Rangers. Barrow led a life of bank robberies and killings, Parker equally implicated. The wrecked car held rifles pistols and ammunition.
