East Central State Normal holds ninth commencement
The ninth annual commencement exercises at East Central State Normal School were held in the campus auditorium with a good crowd despite conditions keeping others away. Rev Crutchfield delivered the invocation, Miss Mentzer played, and President Cantwell of Oklahoma A and M spoke on adapting schools to war-time changes. Diplomas were awarded by President Gordon to forty three graduates including Velma Allred and John D. Rives.

Harry Jones died this morning at 7 at the home of E W Hard in Oklahoma City after weeks with tuberculosis. The body will be moved to Ada on the 11:15 Katy train tomorrow and the funeral at Rosedale cemetery will be led by Rev C L Brooks and Rev M A Cassidy. He was the son of the late Frank Jones and had recently worked in Wewoka.
