Nance Sings With Prize Winning Iowa Choral Group
Bobby Ray Nance, Cedar Rapids announcer and Oakman native, sings bass for the Vigortones, a Cedar Rapids barbershop quartet. The group took second place in a local contest. Members come from The Harmony Hawks chorus, which won a seven state contest and earned a spot in the international finals in Columbus, Ohio, in June. The Harmony Hawks won with Ouly Know I Love You and Give Me a Song to Sing.

Egypt District Divided in School Annexation Vote
Patrons in Egypt District 11 approved 22 to 10 a proposal to annex part of the district to Byng School District No. 16 while the remainder, including the site and equipment, joins Latta district by order of the State Board of Education. The east portion voting line traced a described boundary within Township 4 North Range 5 East.

Busy Frisco Women Build Clubhouse Partition
Frisco women worked two days last week on a club building project. They cut and nailed lumber, erected a partition between auditorium and kitchen, and plan to add doors windows and more repairs with some help from husbands. Windell Price donates materials.

Cat steals show as stage fright hits stage crew
