Irving school pupils presented their May Day program to a large audience of parents and friends. Willard school held a reception showcasing pupil work including written pieces and drawings with credit to students and teachers.

Oklahoma City May 19 The legislature adjourned at 3 30 pm until noon Monday June 23 without final action on general revenue and general appropriation bills. Conference committee talks continued but none of the houses would recede from instructions. Senate refused to approve house oil and coal tax provisions. Other pending measures include road and marriage health bills. Speaker Maxey said the investigating committee will meet May 26. Governor Cruce approved acts restoring Sabbath laws, raising insurance bond to 25000, enabling delinquent tax collection, funding Pauls Valley boys training school and Stillwater A M College, abolishing township government in mid sized counties, a local option amendment, and a state school for incorrigible girls.
The Irving school eighth graders will participate with high school graduates in exercises at the first Methodist church on Thursday evening. W C T U representatives Winn Brailey Wheeler and Don spoke at chapel. Wheeler shared a Frances E Willard life sketch and presented a framed picture to the school. The dual track meet Add vs Maud is canceled due to extra work. the high school cantata Sylvia is set for Friday evening at the opera house with a synopsis to follow.

A county attorney letter to the Ada News argues against retroactive effect of the Harris Day code on county officers. Bowling Green Kentucky May 19 Wagoner Oklahoma was chosen as the next meeting place of the Cumberland Presbyterian Assembly in session here. The assembly spent most of the day on formal discussion of topics while the Women's Missionary Board proposed a consolidation of the two church papers but no action was taken.

Governor signs bill abolishing township government in Pittsburg county and another measure aims to end township systems in about half the state. Pontotoc county is included. An August election amendment would let each county decide whether township systems prevail.
