Guthrie Oklahoma May 16 A House report from the State School Land Board shows 495 loans made on farms under the law passed earlier in the session. Of the 5 million dollar school fund from Congress 500000 has been loaned from the U S Treasury and 1 460 000 loaned to counties on bond issues. Deposits total 1 439 915 in banks after vouchers and 250 000 held by the State Treasurer. The remainder sits in 168 banks in sums from 12090 to 50000 with surity bonds as security in 146 banks.

Miami Oklahoma May 16 John Hopkins the confessed slayer of Lena Gray a school teacher near here on January 5 was sentenced to die on June 26 by District Judge Brown. He had proclaimed his intent to marry her failing which no other man would win her and prepared for the deed after drinking.

Shawnee Oklahoma May 16 The capital commission arrived tonight and will spend tomorrow inspecting sights proposed for the location of the state capitol. The group will meet with the chamber of commerce the mayor and city council and business men to hear propositions. Mayor Stearns has proposed offering City Park four blocks in the heart of the city and any other site the state desires.
