Survey Work Progress on Upper Blue River Project
Bob Curtis reports the six man surveying crew on the Upper Blue River Watershed Project is about halfway through. The program started in 1957 by the Conservancy District and runs from Pontotoc County headwaters to Johnston County. Four months of field work has been done on Leader Creek and Middle Clear Boggy with smooth cooperation, aiming for completion around September 1.

Broiler Show at East Central Ends Pontotoc 1960 Project
The Pontotoc County 4 H Broiler Project wrapped its 1960 season May 5 at East Central College Ada. Forty 4 H youths exhibited about 200 broilers with thirty Ada sponsors in attendance. Wayland Pennington and Mike Tiffin of Vanoss won Grand and Reserve Champion awards.

A joyride ended in tragedy when a car rammed a Frisco freight at Ash and Fourteenth. Jerry Bruhin 19 died instantly. Joe Bob Bowles 20 and Elbert Allen Humphrey 19 were pulled from the wreck and listed in fair condition at Valley View Hospital Thursday morning with severe lacerations.
