One Man Dies in Oklahoma Twisters
A man was killed and a farm wife and her daughter were injured as a series of twisters hit scattered parts of Oklahoma. William J. Wilson, 66, died near Bluejacket when a tornado struck north of town and a barn collapsed trapping him. Mrs. Ed Grider and her daughter Marian Eddie were hurt near Altus when a twister demolished their home. Barns and outbuildings were damaged near Alva as other storms swept the region with heavy rain, hail, and dust from the Texas panhandle. Temperatures ranged from 42 to 86 across the state with widespread rain and thundershowers.

Ardmore area man Keel Doggett, 40, living seven miles south of Ardmore on Highway 77, died in a hospital from gunshot wounds ruled personal safety related. Missing Ada WPA paymaster located after yearlong disappearance
Federal agents traced Jack Barnes, Ada WPA paymaster and field clerk, to California where he was captured. He disappeared May 5 1937 with an estimated 700 to 800 dollars in WPA funds and faces forgery charges for padding payrolls and forging signatures. He reportedly had worked in Ada since November 1936 after coming from Waurika, Oklahoma.
