The Pontotoc county district court overruled the motion for a new trial in the State v. Crockett Daggs for the murder of Mrs. May Harrison. Daggs faces twenty years in the pen if the appeal bond of 15 000 cannot be posted within twenty days, with a large bond set at 30 000. Matt Lancaster, accused of aiding the crime, is slated for trial May 5.
The Ada Commercial Club set cash prizes for Pontotoc County farmers including best diversified crops, best mule team, top yearling male and colt, largest family, best driving horse, tallest man and woman, top butter, and most eggs. The note asserts Oklahoma’s rise in livestock and the benefit of nearby markets to cattle and hog production.
Nathan Jacobs was hanged in Brookhaven on March 25 after confessing to a murder of an aged man kneeling in prayer. The condemned man faced fear and hallucinations in his death cell, praying for relief from ghosts he imagined haunted him.
The Ada Oil and Gas Co. receives an eighteen month gas franchise renewal with six months to commence development. Leases cover about 6000 acres west of town, with a wet gas zone already flowing 4,000,000 feet daily near the cement plant. The company, led by A. L. Beck, has over one hundred local shareholders and aims to start operations within six months.
John Smith of the west side near the cement plant faced an examining trial in Judge Brown's justice court on burglary charges. Prosecutor Miss Nevy Crow and witnesses testified about a midnight entry through an east window on February 19, but the defense challenged visibility, noting the moon set at 4.25 am. the judge released Smith for lack of sufficient evidence.

Crown Point Indiana March 25 The Lake County council, on strike for over a month over a $10 annual pay rise, met to resume business. They had noted annual appropriations of several million dollars and time spent, raised their own pay, but a state accounting board order voided the resolution, prompting the ongoing strike.
