Fires Clam Two County Homes In Homer Area
A large ranch home north of Homer burned to the ground Saturday afternoon despite Ada firemen efforts. The house owned by J. A. Richardson and rented by Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sullivan housed seven people. no one was home. Firefighters saved water for a nearby hay filled barn as the structure collapsed, with ammunition explosions complicating the blaze. The inferno began in a two room log cabin, with only the chimney remaining as the shell burned. A dog in the basement reportedly howled before perishing in the flames.

OCA Forms Special Feed Committee to Aid Cattle Producers
The Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association creates a dedicated cattle feeders committee as the feeding segment of the state's $370 million livestock industry expands. President W. R. Brannan of Marietta notes growth in feeding activities and that more than 125 feedlots exist as of early January with about 115000 cattle on feed, up 32 percent from a year earlier.

Grain Feed Program Surpasses Expectations in County
Bennett Sherrer, county ASCS manager, says Emergency Feed Program is ahead of plan with 80 carloads distributed and about 475 applicants. Dairymen receive more grain, program ends May 31 with possible extension depending on moisture and pasture response. Orders stop April 15 and must be processed by April 20.
