Allen High School band mothers completed a drive to fund new uniforms raising about 1900 dollars. Uniforms are on order with delivery expected by April 1 for the spring East Central band contest. Attending will be J I Goins newly elected highway commission chair Carl LaGere commissioner LeRoy Berry district engineer and others ready to answer questions. Welborn farm near Fitzhugh with gullies filled and 20 acres sodded. Stonewall Couple Transforms a Depot into Home for 20 Years
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Williams of Stonewall have effectively lived in a converted four room depot since 1934, turning the old station into a bright home with added kitchen and bedrooms. They moved part of the building to create a barn and kept the rail line’s memory in a 12 foot high room. Williams, a former railroad worker, watched the main line age and the track shift as a nearby line remained.
