Let Hot School Bill Cool Until Monday Oklahoma City March 1
Oklahoma City march 1. House leaders decided to let the hot school bill cool until next Monday when debate resumes. Lawmakers worked three hours as galleries packed. The 350 page measure would repeal and rewrite more than 100 statutes affecting public schools. Amendments trimmed the school year to 79 days and eliminated tax supported kindergartens. Teachers backed the bill as Rep E T Burlap leads the drive for enactment after 18 months study by educators and lawmakers. The senate had earlier rejected the bill.
