An Indian Inspector directs townsite commission members and employees to September 1st as the $25,000 appropriation limits work. Once convened, funds will be requested to continue the project amid railway edit debates and Holdenville news. The Holdenville Tribune notes local business at the old stand persists.
A Cumby Rustler item claims a citizen found a hen’s nest egg with two linked shells. A. Kilpatrick sent a specimen of an egg produced by a hen raised by Kilpatrick. The source notes a chicken with four legs hatched from that hen, with H. C. Pederson nursing the chick.
Citizens held a mass meeting at the courthouse to elect delegates for the Single Statehood Shawnee convention on the 24th. Speakers Bolen Winn Campbell backed separate and single statehood with many speeches and two committees naming delegates. The delegation was instructed for single statehood on equal terms with Oklahoma. The children's day program at the Baptist church drew a full house and praise for the Baptist ladies.
Mrs Jane Melville wife of M C Melville died at her home two miles south of town on June 18 at 9:00 am age 66 after a three day bout with Typhoid Pneumonia. She is buried 24 miles south beside her son J B Ellis and sister Margaret Carney. Survived by husband M C Melville son S C Melville daughter Mrs Agnes Hayes and many grandchildren.
A resident on Ada reports a Wednesday incident on Main Street where a boy was searched in a malicious act without foundation. The statement refuses the accusation against the party and warns that future such treatment will be resisted as a personal indignity.
Ardmore will host four sizable brick plants and sends 40 delegates to Shawnee. In the Indian Territory cattlemen oppose Hitchcock. Durant suffers heavy rain and wind Sunday. Tishomingo beat Ardmore 8 to 1 in a Sunday ball game. A coal company is incorporated at South McAlester with capital stock of 1.5 million dollars. Ben Craven, an escaped convict, robbed about 100 people in Oklahoma last week.
W G Currie is back after a few days illness and resumes his duties.

President H W Seaman announced in Muskogee that the Ozark and Cherokee Central Railroad would be formally transferred to the Frisco on July 1. The Frisco plans a large hotel in town under the Harvey system and will route the Meteor express from Texas to St Louis via Frisco after traffic arrangements with Rock Island. A Denison Herald note later disputed the Meteor change. The Tom Thumb Wedding hosted by local churches raised 37.50 and highlighted young performers.
The Ada band invites attendance at the concert this evening as they prepare for the coming issue in Ada and strive for a strong show in Aca. Prof P Wells visited Shawnee and Quemah, Cleve Harris joined as bass drummer, two new instruments a tuba and baritone arrived, Dock Couch was ill for Friday rehearsal, and a complete program will be performed tonight.
A Tuesday outing on Big Sandy brought a jolly crowd who fished the Sandy Creek area. Corks dotted the water as fish fled. ladies served a grand dinner under an oak. afterward, boating swimming and target shooting filled the afternoon. Attendees included Mesdames Chambless Wesson Collins Johnson Crowder Akers and Miss Mable Warren. Messrs Akers Crowder Wesson Chambless Weaver and others. Mr and Mrs Krank Meaders welcomed a fine boy Con atatilduibis Frank.
