Gov. C N Haskell refuses to recognize Guthrie based injunctions while a military guard surrounds Logan county courthouse. Sheriff Mahoney delivers papers, Haskell declines service, and officials rush to establish a new executive office in Oklahoma City as state capitol relocation debates intensify.
Prof J H Johnston superintendent of Tishomingo schools returned to Tishomingo this morning leaving behind four Tishomingo high school girls Ada Williams Alene Colby Mary Chisholm and Emma Pritchett who will attend the Summer Normal. He was to head the history department this summer but due to his wife’s delicate health he declined and went home. He will serve as acting county superintendent of Johnston county now that Prof Lilly is present.
Voters favored Oklahoma City as the capital location by a large margin and rejected the railroad amendment by about two to one across multiple towns. In Ada First Ward and other precincts, totals show Oklahoma City receiving the bulk of ballots for capital location while amendments largely failed.

City council paused street paving citing technicalities that could lead to an injunction. Bond attorneys advised delaying, with paving halted for about two weeks before resuming after new contract details are finalized.

Tahlequah Oklahoma June 14 a fire destroyed parts of the Normal Inn a leading hotel housing summer normal students. Dozens of girls escaped in nightgowns while Mrs Pitchford wife of Judge John H Pitchford and Dr Walter Reed with a student leaped from upper windows. A gasoline explosion and smoke spread through the building causing frantic escapes though the concrete structure was partially saved. The faculty and friends provided clothing and shelter for many displaced students as classes began the term yesterday.

Prof. J. Frank Lilly of Tishomingo arrived in Ada and takes his chair in the Normal today. He plans to move his family when a home is found. Prof. H. A. Bower, superintendent of Ravia schools, also arrived, teaching Oklahoma History. Johnston county will furnish about one hundred students to the program this summer. Many eighth grade and high school students will join the review course.
A Black man named E Abanks was arrested yesterday morning by Deputy Bill Adair on a whiskey selling charge. He was jailed briefly and released on a 350 dollar bond. A pint and a half of liquor was confiscated. Authorities claim a strong case will be presented at trial.
