Northfield Minnesota reported sighting of outlaw John Dillinger by former Chicago taxi driver Donald Murray. Murray says he saw Dillinger in a car with four men after alighting a freight train at dawn. He identified Dillinger but details vary from known facts about the fugitive. Federal officers investigated the claim.
Registration for the July 3 election began today across Oklahoma and runs through Friday June 22. Many qualified voters since the last registration or who turned 21 will enroll. Precinct registrars for Pontotoc County are listed with addresses and routes for Ada and surrounding areas.
The state tax commission allocated $704,717 of motor vehicle license collections for the month ending April 20 to counties. Her new trial bid is due by July 7 after testimony from her 15 year old daughter Mattie, who testified she helped kill her father with a shotgun.

The Senate approved a modified Indian self government bill aimed at stopping land alienation and expanding land acquisition for Indians. It would allow tribal cooperatives, extend government credit, and grant a 10 percent Civil Service advantage for Indians entering federal service, but scrapped a separate Indian court.
A large Ada Chapter delegation returned from Guthrie where the state DeMolay conclave met Thursday and Friday. Thirty three Ada boys won honors including a pennant for largest chapter participation. Miss Maurine Butler was elected DeMolay queen. Mitch ell McDaniel won in tennis singles and Clifton and Clifford Green reached the doubles final. Ada won first in exemplification of the DeMoloy degree. The next conclave will be in Muskogee.
Ottawa county officers race to identify two men killed in a dawn battle after two fugitives from McIntosh county jail, Cecil Howard and Leroy Dennison, matched identification marks. Patrolman Jack Dunaway was fatally shot. officers S J Johnson and Witt Ellis were present. Sheriff MecQuillan expected arrival of the Oklahoma sheriff while one suspect resembled John Hilgenberg, a Missouri penitentiary escapee.
The drought drives grain futures up about 27 percent in just over a month with wheat up 19 cents and corn 7 cents since April 30. Despite heavier trading there is little broad public participation and few new buyers amid cautious sentiment. Thirty year veteran Arthur Levins leaves the service after twenty three years and returns to duty after a brief layoff. He marched in plain clothes on the first day, spent the second day at a veterans post, and enlisted for another three years.
In a Toronto gospel hall, Charles Shaw delivered a warning about preparing for death and proclaimed his faith before gasping for air and dying on the platform. The incident ended a brief sermon in which he expressed love for his Lord.
