Citizens urged to support an annual Pontotoc county fair after flood damage to grounds and buildings. Funds needed to repair and overhaul property with $2925 unsold stock plus about $1000 recently placed by Col. J. W. Davis. a county canvass will seek the balance. Local live stock and agriculture interests invited to participate.
The Associated Press notes Generals and commanders inspected trenches and arsenals, reporting intensified artillery and weapon production in Genoa Milan and across Italy. Observations laud current equipment levels and boosted output in guns mortars mines armor and aircraft with ninety plants ready to produce planes.
One bid of 2.00 dollars per square yard with extra excavation was submitted by Great Western Paving Co for ADA business district alleys. The estimate includes 2200 dollars for the distance between new paving and the normal with potential reimbursement debates and local funding plans.
The president's disapproval blocked an open discussion proposal in the Senate. Senators voted 50 to 23 against Borah's amendment to Underwood's war debate-curtailment resolution.

County Commissioners sign a contract with Kansas City Bridge Company for a 1160 foot concrete low water bridge at Byng six miles north of Ada. Cost 33541 funded by Pontotoc Seminole and state money. Bridge designed to flood over top with 58 panels and 20 foot widths. Traffic will pause briefly in high water.
Washington reports the Provost Marshal set Porto Rico at 12 466 men and Hawaii at 4 336 men for the National Army in this week’s quota. Oklahoma City notes Harry H. Rogers of Tulsa declined the Republican nomination for governor citing illness as the reason.
Washington reports shipyards output for the Shipping Board since May 25 has topped German submarine losses by over 100000 dead weight tons. Twenty one vessels totaling 130642 tons were produced, while submarines destroyed ten American vessels in the raid totaling 26000 tons.
Baton Rouge June 11 The lower house passed a bill granting suffrage to Louisiana women by eighty to twenty one It now goes to the senate where passage is expected The notice also reports a birth: a son born to Mr and Mrs Wm Bauhaus north of Ada June 3 weighing ten pounds
Chief Gunner Waite of the British navy will speak on the war at the normal auditorium Friday at 8 30. Ada citizens praise his vivid firsthand accounts of frontline horror and his seventeen leg injuries from bayonet and other wounds. No admission charged, and locals from across the county expected to attend.
