A county wide canning effort begins in Ada at the First Methodist church kitchen under Mrs. Jessie Morgan with Mrs. McNeil in charge. Surplus garden produce will be stored by the Red Cross for winter relief and a pressure canner project is planned with free services from Welders and Plumbers to install equipment.

Farmers Sales Day Set for Ada on June 14
The Farmers Sales Organization reports Ada will host its first farmers sale on June 14 at the county fairgrounds near Cy lake east of the city. Regular sales will follow on the second Wednesday each month with an auctioneer, shed space, and logistics arranged. The Ada Independent baseball club plans fundraising through city business donations to buy balls and cover expenses, and a district sandlot tournament is sought. Fourth of July events at Frances Wintersmith park are also prepared with fireworks and contests.

Two Kansas convicts believed cornered in cave near Siloam Springs
A large posse swarmed into the hills west of Siloam Springs to chase two Kansas fugitives thought to be in the area. Authorities reported no definite traces after a search near a cave along the railway. Tear gas bombs were carried by reinforcements, but the fugitives remained at large as the search stalled at noon.

Fugitives hunted as armed posse roams Oklahoma hills
A hundred farmers armed with shotguns and rifles plus bloodhounds pursued up the Delaware county hills around Dripping Springs for escapees from a Kansas prison. Woman Freed In Preliminary Hearing In Assault Case

Cyrus H K Curtis renowned publisher and philanthropist dies at his Wendell Wyandotte home at 1 10 a m after a year long illness. He would have turned 83 on June 18. He leaves daughter Mary Louise Curtis Bok and family. Curtis funded the Benjamin Franklin Memorial and led Curtis Publishing and other papers including the Philadelphia Inquirer. He was born Cyrus Herman Kotzschmar Curtis.

Walter Holloman 53 died at a local hospital Thursday night after an illness resisted operating efforts. Funeral services were at First Baptist church Friday afternoon with Dr Morris officiating. He lived in Ada most of his life then moved to Sulphur two years ago. He is survived by his widow two daughters Francis Holloman and Mrs Clyde Highfill and a son Paul. Burial was in Rosedale Cemetery Criswell Funeral Home in charge.

Dr. di S. Terry of Ennis Texas and his wife were killed in a highway collision seven miles southwest of Tulsa. Seven other motorists were injured including Eugenia Terry a Dallas school teacher.
