Three Hurt As Atoka Bound Train Demolishes Car
At 11 40 this morning a motor train bound from Oklahoma City to Atoka struck and demolished a Ford touring car at the brick plant grade crossing south of the city. Three injured, all expected to live, include Mr and Mrs Herman Johnson and Herbert Daniels of Cairo. Daniels suffered multiple fractures and bruises, Johnson and his wife escaped with lighter injuries. Bill Dryer was the train conductor.

Held For Hearing In Assault Case Watchman Shot

Mountaineer Jackson and Family Slain in Hills

Jackson mountaineer whose family was found murdered last Friday and whose body was found Sunday near his home in the Jack Fork hills was the victim of the wrath of some enemy, officers decided after an inquest. The three other members of his family were likely slain by the same person. Jackson had been shot in the back and his skull crushed. His 16 year old wife and his son Orville, 15, were killed by bullets through the heart, and his 10 year old daughter Abbie was shot through the head. Sheriff and county attorney returned after word that the mountaineer’s body was found near the Abbie body in a corn field. Rumors spoke of two men who had recently lived with Jackson and proposed robbing a bank. Jackson refused. Local mountaineers think Jackson and family were wiped out so he wouldn’t talk too much.

Man faces perjury charge in county case
A man using the name DeVeur is jailed on perjury allegations tied to securing a marriage license for a local girl. The license claimed the Ada girl was 18, while she was 14. Police traced the pair to Stratford. the man, about 30, had needles and dope. A statutory charge is being prepared in Garvin county.

Body of lynched man found in Missouri River
The body of Oole Williams, a black man, was recovered from the Missouri river at Boonville Missouri. Williams had been kidnapped while being taken to jail from Slater to Marshall after killing Romeo Logan. He was handcuffed and his feet bound and investigators think he drowned after being thrown into the river. Slater city marshal Edgar Ballew and constable Price Thompson identified the body.
