Judge challenges stock ownership in corporate dispute

Stone accuses Hoover of holding 432 voting shares with 430 allegedly illegally issued. He asserts the company never showed a profit yet paid $90,603.26 in dividends from 1955 to 1959, unapproved by directors. Deaton counters Stone seeks personal gain, not stockholder protection, and notes $165,000 owed to Clearview not due immediately over 10 years. The directors moved to let the Federal District Court resolve ownership and legality of disputed shares.
