Dodds See Project Through to Harvest At Caney Vines
The Caney vineyard project ends as the Dodds stay and harvest begins after a long dry spell. Ten families lost homes and dreams as faded pink mobile homes were removed. The Dodds now own 20 acres of grapes, part of 180 acres set aside for the program in 1972, with 25 more acres bought by Clare Miller who plans a winery. Funds dried up after the New Hope program, leaving promised houses unbuilt and families leaving.
