Wildcat Oil Well Blows Head Near Stillwater
The Stanolind Amerada wildcat on the Adolph Friedmann lease five miles southeast of Stillwater blew a head and cleaned today. A 15 minute flow reached about 100 barrels before the well was shut in awaiting orders. Blaylock Begins Two Year Sentence For Attempted Rape
W. L. Blaylock about 60 will be taken to the state penitentiary at McAlester this morning to start serving a two year sentence. District Judge Tal Crawford sentenced Blaylock after he pleaded guilty to attempted rape in the first degree. He had previously pleaded not guilty at arraignment before Justice A. W. Oliver and had been held in county jail since last April after the incident involving a 5 year old girl.

Worker Beaten Twice On Picket Line in Camden
In Camden New Jersey an employee trying to return to work at the New York Shipbuilding yards was beaten twice by strikers as he fought through picket lines. Canner Refuses to Sign With Union in Muskogee
In Muskogee on July 24 AFL leaders failed to win recognition of the first cannery workers union. Griffin Wholesale Grocery Co. president J. T. Griffin refused to recognize a union unless rivals do the same. Labor officials sought to organize Griffin's competitors and cited current pay at 20 cents an hour for men and 16 cents for women.
