City Considers Parallel Parking On Main Street Ada
The state Department of Highways urged Ada to convert from angle to parallel parking on Main Street and North Broadway by September 1 1968 to improve traffic flow and safety. City officials cite curb heights and potential loss of spaces, with no current plans to adjust curbs or meters. The 1959 highway statute backs state authority over parking along designated streets.
