Modification Announced In Peanut Plans
The Department of Agriculture announced a modification to AAA peanut for oil provisions. Farmers may expand oil peanut acreage beyond the farm allotment without AAA payment deductions other than the peanut conservation payment. The change does not affect the peanut marketing quota, which requires excess peanuts to be delivered to designated agencies to avoid penalties. The market remains keyed to oil crushing value minus storage and selling costs.
