Moore Denies Guilt in Death Of Former Wife
Moore, about 40, remained in Pontotoc county jail facing a murder charge in the fatal shooting of his former wife Gladys Johnson Huckerby on Tuesday night. He pleaded not guilty at arraignment in justice court and a preliminary hearing was set for next week. He was arrested by city and county officers in Fitzhugh shortly after the shooting on North Stockon Avenue. Funeral services for the slain woman were held Wednesday afternoon.

Car Crash Near Oakman Injures Several People
A car driven by Frank Winters overturned and crashed into a deep ditch on Francis road near Oakman injuring several occupants. Faulty steering gear was suspected. J D Dislins of South Stockton posted a 20 appearance bond at police headquarters Tuesday for release in a case tied to Q W Hardie who was injured Monday evening after a scuffle near a lamppost.
