Kerr Museum: an unusual Oklahoma hillside residence turned museum
The Kerr Museum near Poteau in Green Country Oklahoma occupies a cliffside 14,000 square foot home built by Senator Robert S. Kerr and his wife. After their deaths the Kerr Foundation and Eastern Oklahoma Historical Society maintain the museum with displays on natural history, prehistory, pioneer and Choctaw history, plus artifacts from Kerr’s Washington days.

Arkansas man charged with cattle theft
An Arkansas man, Larry Joe Smith of Midway, was arrested in Tulsa on July 2 and charged with the March 5 cattle theft involving 40 head of mixed 750 pound steers from Guymon. The four month multi state probe traced cattle sold in Dodge City and revealed 26 head located, with three slaughtered and 23 found in Kansas feedlots.
