AL J. Fenck Huddleston was sworn in as mayor of Ada following Dr. Charles F. Spencer's resignation effective June 30. Huddleston, previously vice chairman of the council, announced that the council would meet to appoint a Ward 2 citizen to fill Spencer’s seat. Huddleston’s oath was administered by County Judge Tom D. McKeown in the courthouse with several officials present. He had served on the council from Ward 1 since Ada’s 196 charter creation and was re-elected this spring. He moved from vice mayor to mayor in the judge’s office.
