John L. Vertress Dies At Waurika Pioneer Attorney
John L. Vertress a 69 year old pioneer Oklahoma attorney and friend of Secretary of State Cordell Hull died of pneumonia at his Waurika home after a weeklong illness. He practiced law in Lawton for four years before moving to Waurika in 1906 and was named director of the Cordell Hull Memorial library to be established at the University of Tennessee.
