Farmhouse Fire in Pauls Valley Kills One, Injures Three
On a Stanton farm three miles from Pauls Valley Oklahoma Territory a fire in a rear attic killed a 15 year old girl and badly burned Youg Stanton and his wife. The other two youths escaped in night clothing. Authorities have no clue to the fire’s origin. Ardmore I T January 17 James T Burns named tribal tax collector for the Chickasaw Nation will begin merchants tax collection at Chickasha tomorrow. Tax covers January 1 to March 4 the dissolution date of the tribal government. The tax is deemed valid and will be enforced with Indian Agent backing if needed. A statehood mass meeting honored Dr Browall for his music arrangement and instrument setup. Mrs Atwood returned to her Newbury Choctaw Nation home.
