Local ranchers prepare for the Heart of the Midwest Performance Tested Bull Sale in Holdenville with bulls gaining across 140 days. Top entries include Melton Charolais and Kansas, Texas, and Oklahoma bulls. overall 128 bulls produced a total gain of 53 695 pounds and an average 3 pounds per day, with registration and weight rules ensuring quality stock.
At Murray College Tishomingo the 84 day bull weighing shows 206 of 210 bulls on test with an average daily gain of 3.35 pounds. Top Hereford and Polled Hereford sire groups post gains up to 3.97 pounds daily, while individual bulls reach 4.4 pounds per day in some divisions. Progeny records and performance data from multiple herd sires across Hereford, Polled Hereford, Angus, Red Angus, Brangus, and Carolina Charbray lines are reported by test manager Jerry Martin.
Two Jordan ministry of public works engineers, Aziz Abdo Saidi and Ali Suheimat, visit Ada Oklahoma to study local highway construction. They tour several highway districts and plan six months in the United States, noting Jordan's lighter traffic and two lane roads while praising American paved highways.
