4 H Clubs Plan Safety Programs In Pontotoc County
Pontotoc County 4 H clubs plan a safety program with about 800 members enrolled. Clubs in Roff Vanoss Allen and Pickett placed high last year in state safety competitions. Ada Police Crackdown on Speeding to Boost City Safety
Ada officials launched a 24 hour traffic patrol crackdown with an extra patrol car and a zone system to improve city coverage. In four days with the new car, 34 violators were cited, including 13 speeders, up from 24 in the prior four days. Police emphasize obedience to laws over arrests.

Calf Rescued After 21 Days Buried Alive
Assistant Police Chief Lester Hokit rescued a two month old calf from a hole on the W C Wigley Ranch near Fittstown after it had been missing for 21 days. The calf survived without food or water and was reunited with its mother upon release.
